It's Winter Somewhere - Knit Grubby Little Mitts and Hood

From where I live, it appears that I may have sneezed and missed winter.

With thoughts of impending cold weather I made a pair of mittens and a hood for Bug-A-Boo.  She liked the yarn and asked consistently to make sure that the hood and each mitt were indeed being made for her.

Now of course, Bug-A-Boo won't do more than look at them.  It's hard to say if this is because she is a toddler, or because it's now tank-top and sandal weather here.  Either way, it's now just a matter of trying to keep the cats away from these mitts and hood until she changes her mind or grows out of them.

Each piece was made with some room for growth, so all that I can hope is that she will make friends with them before she gets too big.

The yarn that we chose has some Lurex in it, which adds a bit of sparkle.  It also takes some of the softness out of each piece.  If you find that there is some room for growth in your work as well, you may consider lining with a light warm fabric.  Maybe a flannel.  It will add another layer of insulation for real cold weather.

If you would like a PDF of these patterns and have a Ravelry account, a copy can be found here.

If you would like a PDF of these patterns from Etsy, it can be found here.

Feel free to change the yarn, gauge, or size to fit your needs.  Just please do not try to sell this pattern as your own.
